The Redwood Bench

This is the redwood bench that I made for my first client, Pam.

The bench will age significantly in 6-months making it entirely gray, but I matched the grain nonetheless, master craftsman that I be.

Take note of the lovely basketweave in the far corner, and the flawless mitered joints where the fascia boards join. Also, the mitered ass-lathe detail on the ends of the bench are a signature of the developing Hamilton signature craftsman style.

In this picture you can see that there are no screws holding this bench together!? This is because I countersunk each screw and filled the hole with a plug of equal dimensions. You can't see it in this picture, but I took care to align the grain of each plug with the grain of its mother board.
